Spotify was developed in 2006, and it was open to public in
2008. Everyone can access to the site through invitation only because of the
bulk of users. For that reason, company then opted to have their accounts on
paid policy. It means that you can only access their site if you will pay an
amount to their company. The company offers licensing to major music company.
In 2009, many tried to register because of the free trial to
the consumers, which lead to an increase of demand for music. However, the
company cannot provide the bulk of demands by the consumers. So, the company
changed their policy that you can avail their services through the help of an
invitation only policy. It means that a person cannot avail of their service if
he is not invited to access the website. Not everyone can access to avail of
the service.
In 2010, the company
again offered services to the consumers they can choose to listen for free but
the offer was only good for 20 hours per month. In the year of 2011, there were
many changes offered by the company. There are two major changes. One of these
changes is they reduce the number of playlist, which can be availed by a free
member only. Another change that was implemented is that members can only
access the site for limited hours and they can only listen to only ten (10)
hours per month. However, if the member is new, he is exempted from this policy
and can avail of the six (6) months free trial.
In 2012, Spotify removed the restrictions to users to listen
for only five (5) play per song. In 2013, Spotify was launched and is available
through some applications over the internet and to some selected countries.
Therefore, if you would like to listen to their favorite music, they have the
option to give you a free trial. But, after the trial, you have to keep in mind
that some services come with particular fees.
